Prema Racing’s Dino Beganovic will start the first Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine race at Paul Ricard from pole position after going fastest in both stages of qualifying. The championship leader, set the fastest lap of 1m58.808s, just 0.002s ahead of his teammate Paul Aron, who will start from the third place.
Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP) had his best qualifying ever in the series and will line up on the front row ahead of his teammate Lorenzo Fluxa who is fourth on the grid, after struggling to match the Brazilian in the second group.
Row three will consist of ART Grand Prix’s Gabriele Minì, who finished fifth after being in contention with the two Prema drivers for pole position and Mari Boya, who showed good pace in Group B.
Michael Belov (MP Motorsport) was seventh overall ahead of R-ace GP’s Hadrien David, while Tim Tramnitz (Trident Motorsport) and Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing) completed the top-10. The Dutch driver was demoted to tenth on the grid after his fastest lap was deleted for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.
