Predictable costs and an attractive sporting environment: the ADAC is continuing its development programme in Formula racing in the 2024 season. The ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team will again start in Formula 4 France next year. In cooperation with the FFSA Academy, four young drivers will have the chance to secure one of the coveted seats. The French Formula 4 series features an international field, with the motorsport stars of tomorrow contesting a total of 21 races over the course of seven race weekends. Applications for a place on the 2024 ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team can be submitted now. The deadline is 8th October 2023.
“The first season of the ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team has shown us that we have taken the right approach. We will now extend our development programme and the collaboration with the FFSA, and are expanding the ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team to four drivers in 2024. In Germany, there are many aspiring motorsport talents, and we want to continue to give them the opportunity to make the step up to Formula racing. The fact that the cars are run centrally in Formula 4 guarantees equal opportunity and transparency of costs,” says ADAC Sport President Dr. Gerd Ennser.
The youngsters will line up at seven events in the French Formula 4 series, with three races per event. The field in France is an international one and featured drivers from 13 countries in the 2023 season. The venues included three former or current Formula 1 circuits. The fact that the Mygale chassis, which are powered by a 180-hp, 1.3-litre turbo engine from Renault, are run centrally provides the drivers with equal opportunity and transparent costs. Formula 1 supplier Pirelli is tyre partner of the junior series.
Interested drivers born between 2007 and 2009 can apply for a place between now and 8th October 2023 at adac.de/motorsport. The drivers may have a maximum one year of experience in Formula racing. As well as the second-generation of Formula 4 cars from Mygale, the participation fee of € 109,500 (plus € 10,000 for insurance) also covers the 21 races in the Formula 4 championship in France. As well as simulator sessions, the fee also includes two pre-season test days, with a set of Pirelli tyres for each, and three organised test days in the Formula 4 France championship. Access to the racing series’ official lounge areas is also included. A race overall and further ADAC Formula 4 Junior Team apparel is provided. The dates for the 2024 season will be confirmed shortly.
