Spanish youngster Bruno Del Pino Ventos will team up with MP Motorsport for his debut in the inaugural Eurocup-3 season. The 16-year-old is gearing up for his second season in single-seaters after a promising first year in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship.
Del Pino will join Mexican racer José ‘Joss’ Garfias and Danish drivers Sebastian Øgaard and Sebastian Gravlund in MP’s four-car phalanx in the new series. Positioned in between Formula 4, the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine and FIA Formula 3, Eurocup-3 aims to help young drivers progress up the single-seater ladder, with Del Pino fitting the bill perfectly, as the young Spaniard steps up after his 2022 season in Spanish Formula 4. Meanwhile, Del Pino also formed part of Spain’s talented selection for last year’s FIA Motorsport Games, in which he won a bronze medal.
“I’m happy to go into my 2023 season knowing that I’m a Eurocup-3 driver with MP Motorsport”, said Del Pino Ventos. “Eurocup-3 will provide a perfect stepping stone for me while MP Motorsport is among the top teams on the single-seater ladder, with every opportunity to progress all offered in-house. I’m really looking forward to attack the season with everything I have.”
“It’s wonderful to have Bruno on board for our Eurocup-3 squad”, said MP Motorsport’s team principal Sander Dorsman. “Last year, he proved to be a worthy opponent in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship and we couldn’t help but notice his raw talent. So we were happy to grab the opportunity to sign him on for our maiden campaign in the new Eurocup-3 series. Together with Sebastian, Sebastian and Joss, Bruno will form a strong team that I’m certain will challenge for top places consistently.”
Ahead of his promotion to single-seaters, Del Pino made his mark in the Spanish karting championship before progressing to international OK Junior levels in 2019 and 2020, taking part in both the CIK/FIA and WSK series, finishing ninth overall in the European Championship, while in the winter periods he took part in the IAME Winter Cup for X30 Junior karts. In 2021, Del Pino moved up to OK level to score points in the FIA European Karting Championship and WSK’s Super Masters Series and Euro Series, as well as taking ninth in the WSK Open Cup. In 2022, he was a regular points scorer in Spanish F4 while he was also invited for a test week of the Ferrari Driver Academy.
