On the Paul Fletcher International circuit, this OK World Championship brought together all the difficulties of kart racing. A large number of participants for a unique event, a unique layout that favoured the regulars, many incidents and retirements and a conclusion with the rain in the Final.
The Birel ART drivers posted several good results during the Qualifying Heats. Pedro Hiltbrand and Ean Eyckmans alternated between top 10 finishes and setbacks. Noah Wolfe for VAR by Birel was the best performer with two top three finishes and 3rd place in the Super Heat. Matheus Morgatto for CL Racing Team was 5th at the finish line. Unfortunately, neither of them managed to finish the Final due to collisions in the rain.
In OK-Junior, the development programme continued. Delayed by a distant Qualifying, the Birel ART drivers went on to demonstrate very good speed.
"It was a very demanding meeting," said Team Manager Jordon Lennox. "We had to get through a lot of pitfalls during the heats. Noah Wolfe and Matheus Morgatto nevertheless managed to make progress before confirming their form in the Super Heats. Rain in the Final further complicated things. We weren't doing badly in terms of pure performance, but the harshness of the race reached new heights.”
All eyes now turn to the last major event of the season, the KZ World Championship in Portimao, from 10th to 13th October, alongside the KZ2 World Cup and the Masters International Super Cup.
