Ayrton Tonna joins the Kalì Kart Team

A new piece of the Kalì Kart drivers line up was made official in the last few days with the signing of Ayrton Tonna. The Maltese driver, born in July 2014, will be racing in the MINI Gr3 category, taking part in the main WSK races and the Italian ACI Championship.

Ayrton has the same name of the legendary F1 champion Ayrton Senna and has been racing since the age of 4, using a helmet with the same colors as the Brazilian driver. His experience in karting began in 2021 with a 2nd place in the Malta Entry Level, a Championship which he won in 2022 then, when he also made his debut in the Rotax Series. In 2023 he raced in the local ACI Championship in Sicily, winning it and last year he gained important experience in the Italian one, in the Mini Under 10 category, as well as taking part in the FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia representing the island of Malta. Last year he was also selected among the 10 best athletes in Malta, a prestigious recognition awarded by a jury of journalists.

For him, 2025 will be an important year in which he will have to capitalize on his experiences and aim to obtain results in the WSK races and in the Italian Championship. The agreement with Kalì Kart will allow him to have technical support from the Factory Team and complete a journey in MINI which has seen him constantly grow from a performance point of view. The first tests carried out in January in Lonato were very positive and the first scheduled race will be the WSK Master Series one on February 9th in Sarno.

This is how Ayrton has commented on the agreement with Kalì Kart:

“I am happy and proud of this possibility for my karting career. The Kalì Kart Factory team has exceptional technical staff and materials. During the first days of testing I have already learned a lot by working with them and I am sure I can be very competitive this year. I started as a CRG driver when I was 4 years old and I can’t wait to get back racing with the Tinini family”.
