The first round of collective testing for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at Zandvoort continued today on a wet track, a condition that didn’t hinder the performance of the current series leader, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who emerged as the fastest at the end of the session. Representing Prema Racing, Antonelli stopped the clock with a remarkable lap time of 1:42.863, putting him nearly five tenths ahead of the French driver Maceo Capietto, who once again proved to be among the quickest on the Dutch circuit.
Behind RPM‘s Capietto, Tim Tramnitz (R-ace GP) secured the third-best time, having been the fastest in both sessions that opened the weekend yesterday. Immediately following the German driver was Martinius Stenshorne (R-ace GP), who, in turn, outpaced another rookie, Alessandro Giusti (G4 Racing). Both drivers have shown significant potential, with four wins under the belt of the Norwegian Stenshorne and three wins from the Frenchman.
Other notable performances included Rafael Camara (Prema Racing) and Roman Bilinski (Trident Motorsport), who finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Paraguayan racer Joshua Duerksen (Arden Motorsport) secured the eighth-best time. Two local drivers, Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Lauren Van Hoepen (ART Grand Prix), rounded out the top 10.
