Qualifying heats and Prefinals have been completed at the Franciacorta Karting Track. The Finals will be on Sunday starting at 10:05, with live streaming and live TV coverage. Up for grabs are the WSK Super Cup titles in an event that is also valid for the Italian KZN Championship and National ACI Sport Trophy for MINI, OKN and OKNJ.

With the WSK Super Cup qualifying at the Franciacorta Karting Track completed, everything is set for the grand finale on Sunday, September 8th, for the WSK titles, which are also valid for the Italian KZN Championship and the ACI Sport National Trophy for the MINI, OKN, and OKNJ categories.

The event, organized by WSK Promotion, saw the participation of around 230 drivers, with a strong turnout in KZN featuring contenders from the Italian Zone Cups, as well as in the MINI, with drivers from 31 nations, and in the two federal categories, OKN and OKNJ, which are now well-established in national competitions.

The starting grids for the Finals on Sunday, September 8th, are defined for the KZN categories by the finishing order of the respective Prefinals, while they are based on the total points scored from the heats and Prefinals for the MINI, OKN, and OKNJ categories.

The Sunday schedule: After the warm-up, competition resumes at 10:05 with the MINI Gr.3 Final, followed by MINI U10 at 10:35, OKN at 11:05, OKNJ at 11:35, KZN Over at 12:05, KZN Over 50 at 12:35, KZN Rookie at 13:05 and KZN Under at 13:35.

Saturday was devoted to the final qualifying heats and all Prefinals. The protagonists of the heats.

MINI Gr.3 - Miron unstoppable.

With three victories in as many heats, the Spanish driver Daniel Miron Lorente (#508 Team Driver/KR-Iame-Vega) proved unstoppable. Also on the rise was the Polish driver Leonardo Gorski (#532 Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex), who won one heat. Third overall in the heats, behind Miron and Gorski, was Julian Frasnelli (#527 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame), who won the final heat, which ended under slow conditions. The Danish driver Matteis Stigsen (#542 CRG Racing Team/TGroup-TM Kart) was fourth and won the first heat, followed by Gioele Girardello (#570 Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Kart) in fifth, and Achille Rea in sixth, who, like Miron, races for Team Driver.

MINI Gr.3 U10 - Perico leads Poujol.

A great battle unfolded in the MINI U10 category, with an uncertain outcome among the various top contenders in the heats. Niccolò Perico (#501 Energy Corse/Energy-TM Kart-Vega) secured the provisional lead with a victory in the final heat after winning another earlier in the morning. The French driver Jean Poujol (#537 Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) has been chasing Perico and also claimed two wins, while Antonio Ianni (#539 CRG Racing Team/TGroup-TM Kart-Vega) secured one victory and pole position in qualifying. Also performing well were the Dutch driver Senn Lindeman (#575 BirelART Racing/BirelART-TM Kart), the Romanian Victor Thomas Gorun (#566 Real Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex) with a Saturday win, and David Moscardi (#506 Team Driver/KR-Iame).

OK-N - Canonica chased by Apicella.

Antonio Apicella (#205 GSR Team/LN-Iame-Vega) ended the dominance of the Swiss driver Christian Canonica (#210 KGT Motorsport/Tony Kart-TM Kart) with a victory in the third OK heat. Canonica had won the first two heats after securing pole position in qualifying. Nicolas Marchesi (#219 Team Driver/KR-Iame) and Lamberto Ferrari (#202 FK Motorsport/IPK-Modena Engines) were behind the two leaders, while the fast female driver from Gamoto, Erika Lavazza, remained very competitive, ending fifth overall.

OK-N Junior - Berezkin keeps the lead.

In the OKNJ category, Ilia Berezkin (#308 Monster K Factory/CRG-TM Kart-Vega) secured two victories in the first two heats, but in the third, the Swedish driver Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi (#313 Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex) prevailed, with Berezkin finishing fourth while still maintaining the provisional lead. Among the top contenders, Valerio Viapiana (#309 Team Driver/KR-Iame) was second overall and consistently finishing near the front with three second-place finishes in the heats. Following in the standings are Nicola Stanley (#329 Gamoto/Tony Kart-TM Kart), French driver Lucas Bonhomme (#317 Moni/Tony Kart-Vortex) and Giacomo Giusto (#306 Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart).

KZN Over – A great duel between Tonoli and Spagni

In the KZN Over category, the competition has been dominated by a duel between Andrea Tonoli (#115 TecTav/Drago-TM Kart-Vega), who took pole position and won the first heat, and Andrea Spagni (#110 KCS/BirelART-TM Kart), who won the second heat. The provisional standings have them tied at the top, setting the stage for a final showdown. Other top contenders include Roger Ricco (#113 BirelART-TM Kart), Sebastiano De Matteo (#101 TecTav/Drago-TM Kart) and Fabio Ferretti (#107 TK-TM Kart).

KZN Over 50 – Full haul for Alacqua.

Ferruccio Alacqua (#173 AMC/Maranello-TM Kart-Vega) achieved a clean sweep by winning both heats after securing pole position during qualifying of KZN Over 50. In the first heat, Alacqua won ahead of Marco Tessarolo (#171 CRG-TM Kart) and Enzo Pirovano (#161 AMC/Drago Corse-TM Kart), while in the second heat, Marcello Lamberti (#179 BirelART-TM Kart) took second place, with Tessarolo finishing third and Paolo Gagliardini (#165 Kalì Kart-TM Kart) fourth. Pirovano finished fifth but is ranked third overall behind Alacqua and Tessarolo.  

KZN Rookie – Heat wins to Zallocco and Antonello.

In KZN Rookie, Alessandro Zallocco (#60 BirelART-TM Kart-Vega) claimed victory in the second heat, moving to the top of the provisional standings ahead of Andrea Antonello (#62 Erre Esse/Parolin-TM Kart), who won the first heat and finished third in the second. Pole-sitter Denny Raineri (#66 Exprit-TM Kart) fell slightly behind, surpassed by Cristian Creati (#67 Intrepid Driver/Intrepid-TM Kart), who finished second in the second heat. Andrea Giagnorio (#69 BirelART-TM Kart) completed the heats in fifth position. 

KZN Under - Calligaris, Cavina and Piccioni lead the pack.

Filippo Calligaris (#11 Erre Esse/Parolin-TM Kart-Vega) took the lead in KZN Under with two wins after securing pole position. However, the competition is fierce, with Alessandro Cavina (#24 Intrepid Driver/Intrepid-TM Kart) also securing two wins, and Antonio Piccioni (#23 TK Racing Kart/TK-TM Kart) earning one victory. Other top contenders include Massimiliano Casagranda (#29 Tec Tav/Drago-TM Kart), who also took a win.

After the qualifying heats, the winners of Prefinals follow. These drivers are all set to challenge their rivals for the win of the Finals on Sunday, September 8th.
