First appearance of the season for the CRG Racing Team in Lonato

This weekend, a selection of CRG official drivers will take part in the 3rd Round of the WSK Master Series scheduled on the Lonato track. This is an important technical shakedown for the team, which will make its first official appearance in the race led by the new Team Principal Jeremy Iglesias. The former French driver will be assisted by Natalia Balbo and Brandon Nilsson, who led the team last year and, after the intense winter testing programme, the Lonato event will be very useful for refining all the management balances in the context of the short and frenetic times of a race weekend.

There will be many reasons of interest linked to this first seasonal race for the CRG Racing Team, including those linked to the debut of some drivers on whom CRG has decided to rely on for this 2025 season. In the OK Junior category, there will be 3 drivers racing this weekend: the debutants Daniel Mirón and Matteis Stigsen and the confirmed Asher Ochstein, in his second season with CRG colors in OKJ. All Junior drivers will use Iame engines from BM Motors. In the OK class, however, the work will be entrusted to 4 drivers, among whom the return to the direct drive categories of Viktor Gustavsson has attracted a lot of attention, as he will be the only driver in the team to use TM engines. Alongside the Swedish driver, CRG will line up with Iame engines Sebastian Minns, Timur Shagaliev and Filippo Donanzan. CRG will also have a solid presence in the youth categories in this meeting, with Archie Tyler in the OKN Junior category and with 4 drivers in the MINI ones: Leo Laitinen and Adam Pirvu both in Gr.3, as well as Daniel Pasquali and Blake Hsueh in the Under 10 category.

The weekend program includes Free Practice today and tomorrow, while Qualifying Practice and the first Heats are scheduled for Friday and will continue on Saturday. The final day on Sunday includes the Super Heats in the morning and the Finals in the afternoon. To follow the action on the track, both Live Timing and Live Streaming will be available on the promoter's official website (www.wskarting.it).

This is how Jeremy Iglesias has commented on the eve of this first race of the season:

“There is a lot of emotion starting a new phase of my career in Karting after retiring from racing, but also the awareness of having a very qualified and professional structure behind me that will help me a lot in my new role within CRG. Ialso have to thank Natalia and Brandon who did an excellent job last year and with whom we shared all the key tasks from a management point of view for this season, so as to offer our drivers a team that pays a lot of attention to every technical and management process. This has always been CRG's philosophy, and our objective is to give a lot of space to driver training, as well as technical developments. Obviously, this race will not be an exam for anyone, but just a great test to start comparing ourselves with our competitors, in view of the important events of the season which, as far as we are concerned, will be the FIA Championships (the European and the World ones). We have some young drivers who have to do a few km to refine their feeling with the material and with the team and this race will be the first stage of an intense preparation program that we are organizing at the start of the season. Here in Lonato we only have a selection of drivers and in the following races others will also join the team, as part of a division of the work that we have planned".
