The operation has purchased of a pair of Tatuus JR-23 cars that they will campaign into USF Juniors next season. Launched in 2012, Zanella Racing is a full-service kart racing team and driver development program, led by former karting star Jose Zanella. The team expects to take delivery of their new cars soon and will begin an immediate off-season testing program that will provide opportunities for aspiring racers to move from karting to cars in the growing USF Junior series. “I’m extremely excited to be expanding our program to include the USF Juniors series,” offered Zanella. “We think that it’s a good time to start a USF Junior program as many kids from karting are moving to cars at an earlier age. The USF Pro Championships ladder program is so well defined and the scholarship program has helped countless kart racers move up to INDYCAR. Our goal is to see a young Zanella Racing-coached karter come through our USF Juniors program all the way to the Indianapolis 500.” Zanella started racing himself at the age of five, and quickly developed into one of the top kart racers in the United States before starting his own operation. Jose’s father owned Formula Renaults for many years and this is where the passion for the open wheels was seeded. The team will be based in Orlando and is proud to have Peer 1 Internet and Edge Computing signed as sponsors. The team has a seat already confirmed for 2024, and the driver will be announced in the near future. The second seat is open to a funded driver and testing dates are available throughout the fall and winter ahead of the 2024 schedule.
