Zak Taylor returns to Chris Dittmann Racing for 2023 GB3 Championship

Chris Dittmann Racing has confirmed that Zak Taylor will return to the team for a full season in the 2023 GB3 Championship. The 20-year-old impressed at the Tewkesbury-based outfit last season, having made a late switch to the team for the final two weekends of the year, and scoring three top-ten finishes in six races.

After building a strong working relationship with the team through those two meetings, the young Brit is aiming to continue the positive momentum into 2023, with the hopes of collecting more silverware after claiming a maiden series podium at Spa-Francorchamps.

Taylor’s GB3 graduation came after a promising first year of single-seaters in the British F4 Championship in 2021, with a win and four additional podiums, and he'd been a podium finisher in Ginetta Juniors prior to that. Zak joins young French rookie Arthur Rogeon at the team, and will begin a pre-season testing campaign this week ahead of the Oulton Park season opener on Easter weekend (7-10 April).

Zak Taylor said: “I'm very excited to see what this season holds. I competed with the team for the final two rounds of the GB3 Championship last year, and the car was mega, everyone was great to work with, and the results spoke for themselves. Those two rounds I did with Chris Dittmann Racing were miles better than the rest of the season I had, and it definitely highlighted my strengths, as well as the team’s, so I think we're a great match.

“We have been in close contact with Chris over the winter, and I've been going in to practice on the simulator every week. I didn't look anywhere else, I only wanted to race with Chris, so I’m really excited to have finally signed for a full campaign this year. The aim for this season is to do some pot hunting. Last season we were quick, and we're only going to get better. We all work together really well and know each other’s strengths, so I definitely think we have the potential to be in the fight.”

Team Owner Chris Dittmann said: “We’re really pleased to have Zak with us for a full season, after he showed great potential in the rounds he did with us last year. We’re happy that we were able to provide an environment where he could thrive after he had a bit of a disappointing year up until that point. He showed vast improvements after joining the team so we’re excited for what we can achieve together this year.”
