WSK Super Master Series rd. 2 - timing practice and qualifying heats at Lonato (BS)

340 Drivers charging WSK Super Master Series in Lonato.

The second appointment of WSK Super Master series in Lonato (BS) scored record numbers. Stakes are getting high in categories OK, OK Junior and 60 Mini in the International Karting series by WSK Promotion. In this appointment, these categories will be joined by KZ2 that will contest its season-opening race. The number of verified drivers present at the South Garda Karting racetrack in Lonato is close to 340: they are all hunting for a better position in the classification and the increasing scoring scheme will definitely offer more chances for classification changes.

Dino Beganovic quickest in OK.

The Swede Dino Beganovic (above, #210 Tony Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone) has been the quickest in OK with the fastest time 47”050s. He led the Italian Gabriele Minì (Parolin-TM). Both drivers are ready to bounce back in the classification, that is currently led by Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR-Iame), who posted the sixth quickest time today. Beganovic and Minì confirmed their speed in the evening, winning one heat each. The Scot Dexter Patterson (KR-Iame) and the Brit Joseph Turney (Tony Kart-Vortex) secured one win each.

Adrien Renaudin launches the challenge in KZ2.

The first to shine in KZ2 (above, the start of one of KZ2 heats) is the French Adrien Renaudin (Sodikart-TM-Bridgestone), who went quickest in 46”646s leading the Italian Giuseppe Palomba (Croc-TM). The two kept the same positions in the first heat and Renaudin secured, therefore, the lead. The second heat went to another Sodikart driver: the Dutch Bas Lammers who led the Italian Matteo Viganò (Tony Kart-Vortex).

Thomas Ten Brinke fastest in OK Junior.
In OKJ the Dutch driver Thomas Ten Brinke (#327 FA Kart-Vortex-Bridgestone, in the photo above) topped the charts in 48”471s leading Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR-Iame). Both drivers are the main rivals of classification leader from Brazil Rafael Camara (BirelArt-TM), who was only 19th today. The Russian Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart-Vortex) won two of the heats run today, while the Spanish Josep Martì (Tony Kart-Vortex), the Brit Jamie Day (Exprit-Vortex), the Pole Marcel Kuc (Parolin-TM) and the French Marcus Amand (KR-Iame) secured one win each.

Akshay Arjun Bohra charging 60 Mini.

He is only 18th in the 60 Mini classification, but the very young driver from Singapore Akshay Arjun Bohra went quickest in qualifying practice posting a best lap of 53”754s and led the Belgian Ean Eyckmans. Rashid Al Dhaheri (all on Parolin-TM-Vega) was third in qualifying practice before winning one of the heats. The second heat was won by Eyckmans (#532, above), while Andrea Filaferro (Tony Kart-TM) had the upper hand in the third one.
