WSK karting resumes: the new calendar confirmed its restart from Adria on July 5th

After 4 months of forced stop due to the Covid-19 emergency, the International karting season resumes with the WSK championships and a new calendar. In Adria, the WSK Super Master Series will reach its conclusion with Rounds 3 and 4, while the WSK Euro Series will kick off from Sarno and end with a double round in Lonato. The WSK Open Cup will take place in Adria, while the WSK Final Cup in Sarno.

The WSK 2020 racing calendar needed some further date changes following the 4 months long stop due to the Covid-19 emergency, but WSK championships will mark a restart of the international season on July 5th with all the categories on track: MINI, OKJ, OK, KZ2.

WSK Super Master Series. The start is confirmed from the Adria Karting Raceway, that is set to house the closing stages of WSK Super Master Series from June 29th to July 5th. The race in Adria will be a novelty with its new format featuring a double round starting on Monday, June 29th with free practice and will continue until the Finals of Round 3 on Saturday, July 4th and Round 4’s Finals on Sunday, July 5th, which will conclude the WSK Super Master Series that started in Adria last February 2nd and continued in Lonato on February 23rd. 

WSK Euro Series. After the end of WSK Super Master Series with the third and fourth rounds in Adria, the WSK Euro Series will kick off from the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno from July 8th to 12th. The end of the Euro Series will take place at the South Garda Karting of Lonato with a double event scheduled from September 14th to 20th that will be Round 2 and Round 3.

WSK Open Cup. The closing events of the season, the WSK Open Cup, will take place in two rounds to be held in Adria from November 23rd to 29th.

WSK Final Cup. The classic closing round of the WSK Final Cup will take place for the first time in Sarno from December 10th to 13th. These end-of-season events will see all the categories MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2 on track.

 

The racing format of double events is the following:

Monday: free practice.

Tuesday: Warm-up, Qualifying Round 1, heats Round 1;

Wednesday: Warm-up, heats Round 1;

Thursday: Warm-up, Qualifying Round 2, heats Round 2;

Friday: Warm-up, heats Round 2;

Saturday: Warm-up, Prefinals Round 1, Finals Round 1;

Sunday: Warm-up, Prefinals Round 2, Finals Round 2.

New Rd.3+Rd.4 29.06.2020 - 05.07.2020 Adria – MINI, OKJ, OK, KZ2.

Wsk Euro Series

New Rd.1 08-12.07.2020 Sarno – MINI, OKJ, OK, KZ2.

New Rd.2+Rd.3 14-20.09.2020 Lonato – MINI, OKJ, OK, KZ2.

WSK Open Cup

New Rd.1+Rd.2 23-29.11.2020 Adria – MINI, OKJ, OK, KZ2.

WSK Final Cup

New 10-13.12. 2020 Sarno – MINI, OKJ, OK, KZ2.   

Approval from competent authorities is still pending.
