World Karting Association Launches A-Maxx Racing WKA eSports Series Presented by Summit Racing Equipment

April 20, 2020 – Keeping up with the changing times in our world, the World Karting Association is pleased to announce the A-Maxx Racing WKA eSports Series Presented by Summit Racing Equipment. Set to go green on April 27th, WKA racers will have the opportunity to compete in a five-race series via the popular iRacing platform and pilot a Skip Barber F2000 car on familiar WKA road racecourses. Races will take place at 8:00pm EST each Monday evening and run through to May 25th.

"WKA has been looking into eSports for a while, and this short break we have all had from racing gave everyone a little more motivation to accelerate the efforts to get something going,” explained Kevin Williams. “We didn't want to re-invent the wheel, but merely provide a platform for WKA racers to keep their skills sharp in a friendly, competitive environment, with real prizes. Special thanks to the WKA Team for making this happen quickly, and our amazing partners, Summit Racing Equipment, A-Maxx Racing, Fast Kart Supply, and the Bennett Family."

“For anyone that knows me, my passion is working with kids and growing our sport. With the situation going on throughout the United States and the world, it makes the whole situation of working closely with others all but impossible,” explained Charles Maxwell of A-Maxx Racing. “I am glad for the opportunity WKA has put forth and having my company play just a small part in it. This is just a speed bump in our 2020 efforts but hopefully we can return back to the track soon and in droves to help support karting.”
