Vortex twice on the podium in Sarno

The engines of the OTK Kart Group pushed Freddie Slater into second place in the final of the OKJ class while in OK, Joseph Turney achieved third position.

OKJ: The Vortex engines proved once again to be extremely competitive on the Naples International Circuit, where the final deployment of the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship OK-OKJ featured 14 DJT engines, four of which were in the top ten at the finish. The first was that of Freddie Slater (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) second on the podium after coming back from ninth place on the grid, having also achieved a victory and two second places in the qualifying heats preceding the final.

Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart Racing Team), who also won a heat, as well as a second and two third places, moved into fourth place ahead of Karol Pasiewicz (Tony Kart Racing Team), fifth in a comeback after starting from 15th position on the grid. A top-ten placement also for Bruno Del Pino (Tony Kart Racing Team), always in the top ten in the heats as well, while Harley Keeble (Tony Kart Racing Team), protagonist in the heats with two wins and a best lap, was unfortunately imposed a post-match penalty. The standings of the qualifying heats also saw Ean Eyckmans (Kosmic Kart Racing Department) in the top ten, always able to reach the top-10 in all the heats he disputed, and Alexander Gubenko (Kosmic Kart Racing Department), who also achieved a second place and a fast lap.

OK: In Sarno, Vortex and its DST engines also reached the podium in the Senior class with Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team), third at the end of the final, who also achieved a best lap in the heats, and finished in third position also thanks a win and a second place.  Nikita Bedrin (Ward Racing) came fourth at the finish line, but the Russian also managed a win, a second and a third place in the heats. Thomas Ten Brinke (Ricky Flynn Motorsport), sixth, with a fast lap in the heats, precedes Luigi Coluccio (Kosmic Kart Racing Department), one of the most consistent drivers of the weekend as demonstrated by the fourth place achieved at the end of the qualifying heats, but also one of the fastest and able to set the fifth time in the qualifiers. With Vortex, Norton Andreasson (Ward Racing) was also in the spotlight, very fast and consistent in the heats where he achieved, among others, a second and two fourth places, but was also unfortunate to succumb to a withdrawal that jeopardizes his final.
