Van Amersfoort Racing adds Venezuelan Alessandro Famularo to F3 Regional line-up

Zeewolde – Van Amersfoort Racing proudly announces the signing of Alessandro Famularo into their Formula Regional European Championship team. Alessandro will compete for the Dutch squad alongside the recently announced Frenchman Pierre-Louis Chovet.

Last year, the 17-year-old Venezuelan, residing in Miami FL, USA, finished his second season in Formula 4 and is now more than ready to step up to the next level in  single seater racing. He will be doing this together with the black and orange outfit from the Netherlands; Van Amersfoort Racing.

Having started racing go-karts at the very young age of 4 years old, Alessandro has collected an impressive list of achievements. He has spent over 10 years in the  international karting scene, covering races and championship all over the world. The Venezuelan born made the leap to Formula 4 racing in Italy the moment he turned 15 years old, which is the minimum required age to compete in the Italian F4 Championship. Despite his young age and being new to single seater racing, he managed to climb the podium multiple times during his rookie year. After that, Alessandro showed steady progress on- and off the track and is now well-prepared for the next
step in his career.

For Famularo, who turned 17 years old only last week, the season kick-off can’t arrive fast enough. “I am extremely excited to join the Van Amersfoort Racing squad!” says Alessandro. “They have such an incredible drive to be successful. For me the upcoming season is an important one. It felt good making proper progress in F4, but I now feel ready to take the wheel of a much more powerful car. The level of competition in the F3 Regional Championship will be high, which is something I am excited about. It motivates me and will force me to put all focus on my one and only goal; podium finishes!” Famularo continues: “I really want to say thanks to my sponsors American Racing, Proamsa and Canamix. It is thanks to their confidence in me that I am able to chase my dreams. None of this would be possible without them!”

The grid of the Formula Regional Championship is filling up with talented drivers and because of that, the second edition of the series promises to be a very competitive one. The race calendar brings the teams to multiple F1 circuits throughout Europe, with the season finale taking place at the famous circuit of Barcelona, Spain.

Rob Niessink, CEO of VAR says: “It is great to have Alessandro with us for the next step in his career. His talent his evident and he is extremely eager to get started in the FR European Championship. He has shown great progress during his Formula 4 journey, but we believe that by combining his talent with our experience, we will be able to maximise his potential even further. We have prepared very well for the upcoming season and will make sure Alessandro gets what he needs to be competitive. As they are both intelligent racing drivers, Alessandro and Pierre-Louis will benefit from being team-mates and learn from each other’s talents. We have a very positive outlook towards the season and the full crew can’t wait for the lights to go off for the first time at the end of March!”
