Trident Motorsport sign Tim Tramnitz to debut 2022 Formula Regional
Tim Tramnitz will make a full-time step up to Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine in 2022, with Trident Motorsport announcing that they have signed the 17-year-old.
The Italian team are new for 2022 and chose Tim Tramnitz, one of the most competitive racers in the German ADAC F4 Championship and the Italian Formula 4 Championship throughout 2020 and 2021. More two-day tests will follow on the 29th and 30th of March at Paul Ricard, and on April 5th and 6th at Monza. The Italian Grand Prix venue will host the opening round of the series on the April 24th weekend. The series will feature 10 rounds. The second event will be at Imola, which will be followed by Montecarlo, Le Castellet, Zandvoort, Budapest, Spa-Francorchamps, Spielberg, Barcelona and Mugello. The finale at the Tuscan venue will be on the October 23rd weekend.
Maurizio Salvadori, Trident Team Owner:
“We are very motivated for the new challenge that Trident Motorsport will experience in the hyper-competitive Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. It is a very professional series, featuring the best young drivers from the national F4 championships, and at least 36 participants are expected. Trident Motorsport could not miss this opportunity, and we enthusiastically decided to combine this program with Formula 2 and Formula 3 after winning the Team Championship in F3 this year. I am also delighted and proud to announce the arrival of Tramnitz, one of the most interesting young emerging F4 drivers, who starred in both the Italian and German series.”
Tim Tramnitz, driver:
“I’m really happy to compete with Trident in FRECA this year. For me and for the team it’s a new challenge in this series and I’m so proud to be part of that story. The team has such a big history and so much experience and for me it is a big opportunity to learn and to get the best out of me. I had such a warm welcome from the team and I’m confident that we can achieve a lot together this year. Of course, I can’t wait for it to start”.
