Top ten for Leclerc by Lennox Racing at the World Championship in Spain

Building on the experience gained in last weekend's race on the occasion of the third and final round of the Champions of the Future series, the Leclerc By Lennox Racing team showed good potential at the Campillos circuit once again. The CL chassis produced by Birel ART and powered by TM Racing proved to be fast in both classes competing, OK and OKJ, in both dry and wet conditions.

In the premier class of single-speed karting, Pedro Hiltbrand continuously improved over the weekend. The recent KZ European vice-champion did not shine in qualifying , but recovered several positions in all of his three heats on Saturday, held in dry conditions, finishing them inside the top ten. The Spaniard also gained five positions in his Sunday heat, on a wet track, and achieved the 23rd place on the grid for the start of the final. In the last race, always under the rain, the standard-bearer of the Leclerc by Lennox Racing team reached the top ten thanks to a 13-place comeback and an excellent race pace.

Martinius Stenshorne was a protagonist in OK too. The Norwegian driver set the third best group time in qualifying and, after a fourth place and a seventh in his first two heats, won his third one thanks to an excellent performance, which saw him gain four positions compared to the start and achieve the fastest lap too. An unfortunate last heat deprived him of the chance to start the final at the front of the grid, but the driver of the Leclerc by Lennox Racing team managed to recover four positions to cross the finish line close to the top 15. A five-second penalty for the incorrectly installed front fairing pushed Stenshorne back to twentieth place, but on balance his weekend was still positive. Another useful race to become familiar with the CL package, instead, for Nathan Schaap. The Dutch driver showed encouraging signs in his second experience with the team and was close to the top 15 in his first heat after recovering nine positions.

Some penalties did not allow Konstantin Krapin to make his good performances in OKJ count, but the young Russian continued on his promising growth path within the team.

The Leclerc by Lennox Racing team will be pleased to see you at the next race, the Winter Cup, which will be held at the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato on the weekend of 12-14 November 2021.
