The third round of the WSK Super Master Series in Sarno

The championship is getting more and more interesting as a lot of drivers can aim to the victory after the first two rounds. The classifications ahead of the third round to be held in Sarno.

The championship standings are quite lively after the first two rounds of the WSK Super Master Series in Lonato and Franciacorta, with the emergence of new contenders ready to battle in the upcoming third round on March 5th in Sarno.

The standings are beginning to take shape up in this 13th edition of the WSK Super Master Series, which is one of the most competitive and exciting in its history. However, there are still many drivers determined to climb the ladder up, aided by the increasing points system over the four rounds of the championship.

The third round of the WSK Super Master Series will take place at the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno from March 1st to 5th, with all the top contenders in the MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2 categories. Here are the championship standings after the second round in Franciacorta.

 

KZ2 – Bertuca is still leading as a lot of rivals chase him.

In KZ2, the Italian driver Cristian Bertuca (BirelArt Racing/BirelArt-TM-Vega) keeps his lead in the championship thanks to the recent second-place finish in Franciacorta and his victory in the first round in Lonato. However, the Frenchman Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart Racing Team/ Tony Kart-Vortex) has proven to be quite competitive, having dominated the last round in Franciacorta. A multitude of competitors are ready to redeem themselves, starting with Emilien Denner (Sodi-TM), Giuseppe Palomba (BirelArt-TM) and Alex Maragliano (Maranello-TM), all of whom were left empty-handed or nearly so in the Franciacorta final.     

The KZ2 classification after the second round:
1. Cristian Bertuca (ITA) points 159
2. Tom Leuillet (FRA) points 119
3. Emilien Denner (FRA) points 77
4. Giuseppe Palomba (ITA) points 60
5. Alex Maragliano (ITA) points 60

 

OK – Egozi keeps the lead but Walther closes in.

The Danish driver David Walther (Koski Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) closes the gap in OK and moves up to second place with his victory in Franciacorta, while the American driver Luis James Egozi (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) keeps the lead thanks to a placement and a victory in the first round in Lonato. Jimmy Helias (Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex) has also joined the top of the standings, rising to third place in the rather short classification. 

The OK classification after the second round:
1. Luis James Egozi (USA) points 119
2. David Walther (DNK) points 91
3. Jimmy Helias (FRA) points 86
4. Gabriel Gomez (BRA) points 71
5. Gustav Wisnieswki (POL) points 69

 

OKJ – Antonov is the new leader.

Stepan Antonov (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame-Vega) achieved a surprising victory in Franciacorta after an impressive comeback of 10 positions and a penalty inflicted on the Austrian driver Niklas Schaufler (DPK Racing/KR-Iame), who lost the top step of the podium to Antonov. The Italian driver Filippo Sala (Sodikart-Sodi-TM) moved up to second place in the standings, just 5 points shy of the lead, thanks to his victory in the Prefinal. The English driver Lewis Wherrell (Forza Racing/Exprit-TM) was among the protagonists in Franciacorta as he narrowly missed the victory in the final meters of the race.

The OKJ classification after the second round:
1. Stefan Antonov points 109
2. Filippo Sala (ITA) points 104
3. Sebastian Lehtimaki (FIN) points 74
4. Christian Costoya (ESP) points 70
5. Alp Hasan Aksoy (TUR) points 66

 

MINI GR.3 – Hoogendoorn takes the lead from Zulfikari.

Great battles were fought in MINI Gr.3, where the Dutch driver Dean Hoogendoorn (Kidix/KR-Iame-Vega) took the lead in the standings thanks to his second-place finish in Franciacorta, while the Spanish driver Bosco Arias Chavarri (Team Driver/KR-Iame) achieved a surprising victory. The other protagonist, the Turkish driver Iskender Zulfikari (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame), was forced to retire in Franciacorta and lost the championship lead.

The MINI GR.3 classification after the second round:
1. Dean Hoogendoorn (NLD) points 143
2. Bosco Arias Chavarri (ESP) points 129
3. Iskender Zulfikari (TUR) points 128
4. Ilia Berezkin points 70
5. Zeyu Shen (CHN) points 65

 

MINI Gr.3 Under 10 – Venant remains leader.

New protagonists also emerged in the MINI Gr.3 Under 10 category, such as the Italian driver Achille Rea (CRG Racing Team/CRG-TM-Vega), who won in Franciacorta. The second-place finish allowed the Belgian driver Antoine Venant (Kidix/KR-Iame) to keep his lead in the standings after the victory scored in Lonato. Among the main protagonists, the Ukrainian driver Oleksandr Legenkyi (Team Driver/KR-Iame) and the Italian Michele Orlando (IPK Official Racing Team/IPK-TM) confirmed their competitiveness.
