The second round of the WSK Open Series at the Cremona Circuit

All the classifications after the opening round of the WSK Open Series in Lonato.

On the weekend of April 2nd, the WSK Open Series hits back the track for the second round of the series on the new Cremona Circuit, whose 1224 meters are ready to host the event of the Series organized by WSK Promotion with the categories MINI, KZ2, X30 Junior and X30 Senior on track.

After the debut in Lonato on March 12th, the championship standings already named the first protagonists, but this second round has the particularity of assigning a higher score, which will continue increasing in the two subsequent appointments on April 16th in Castelletto di Branduzzo and on June 25th in Sarno for the final round.

 

KZ2 – Senna is the leader after the opener in Lonato.

After the first round in Lonato, the Dutch driver Senna Van Walstijn (#1 Sodikart/Sodi-TM-LeCont) occupies the first position with 88 points thanks to his victory in the Final and the additional points earned in the qualifying and Prefinal races. The other two major protagonists of the Lonato race follow in the standings: the Italian Paolo Ippolito (#21 KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) was second in the Final and totalled 69 points, while his teammate Danilo Albanese is standing at 47 points, as he came third in the Final. Completing the top five positions are the French drivers Thomas Imbourg (#6 CPB Sport/Sodi-TM) with 32 points and Emilien Denner (#2 Sodikart/Sodi-TM) with 31 points, who set the pole position in qualifying. 

KZ2. Classification after round 1:
1. Senna Van Walstijn (NLD) points 88

3. Danilo Albanese (ITA) points 47
4. Thomas Imbourg (FRA) points 32
5. Emilien Denner (FRA) points 31.

 

MINI GR.3 – Hoogendoorn is leading the category.

The winner of the Final in Lonato Final, the Dutch driver Dean Hoogendoorn (#501 Kidix/KR-Iame-Vega), leads the provisional standings of the MINI Gr.3 category, reserved for young drivers aged 10 to 12, with 65 points. The Australian William Calleja (#516 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) is second with 46 points earned mainly for his pole position in qualifying and victory in the Prefinal, while the Canadian Ilie Crisan Tristan (#526 Tony Kart R.T./Tony Kart-Vortex) was second in the Final and is third with 42 points. Chasing them are the Romanian Bogdan Cosma Cristofor (#539 Team Driver/KR-Iame) with 39 points and Vladimir Ivannikov (#522 Gamoto/EKS-TM) with 38.

MINI GR.3 Under 10 – Venant built a good margin.

In the Under 10 category, the Belgian driver Antoine Venant (#572 Kidix/KR-Iame-Vega) built a good advantage after scoring a full 90 points, with pole position, victory in the Prefinal and victory in the Final. Chasing him is the Australian driver Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi (#524 Tony Kart R.T./Tony Kart-Vortex) with 57 points due to his victory in the Prefinal and third place in the Final. The Belgian driver Henri Kumpen (#549 BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) is third  with 39 points as he finished second in the Final. The Ukrainian driver Oleksandr Legenkyi (#536 Team Driver/KR-Iame) is currently fourth with 34 points and his teammate, the Polish driver Wiktor Stalmach, is fifth at 32 points, both of them standing out in the Prefinals.

1. Antoine Venant (BEL) points 90
2. Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi (AUS) points 57
3. Henri Kumpen (BEL) points 39
4. Oleksandr Legenkyi (UKR) points 34.

X30 Junior – Coronel takes the lead.

In the X30 Junior category, for emerging young drivers, the Dutchman Rocco Coronel (#704 VictoryLane/Red Speed-Iame-MG) has taken the lead with 78 points, putting on a great performance with pole position in qualifying and then a win in the Final. In pursuit are the two drivers from Team Driver, the Portuguese Lorenzo Campos (#706 Tony Kart-Iame) with 60 points for pole position, a win in the Prefinal, and third place in the Final, and the Swiss Tiziano Kuzhnini (#707 Tony Kart-Iame) with 42 points thanks to his second-place finish in the Final. Slightly further behind are the two Italians from Zanchi Motorsport, Christian Romeo (#714 Tony Kart-Iame) with 29 points and Riccardo Ferrari (#712 Tony Kart-Iame) with 27 points. 

X30 Junior. Classification after round 1:
1. Rocco Coronel (NLD) points 78
2. Lorenzo Campos (PRT) points 60
3. Tiziano Kuzhnini (CHE) points 42
4. Christian Romeo (ITA) points 29
5. Riccardo Ferrari (ITA) points 27.

 

X30 Senior – Carenini al vertice.

Danny Carenini (#801 Energy Corse/Energy-Iame-MG) is one of the most representative drivers of X30 Senior and he immediately took the lead in the championship. The Italian driver is at the top with 80 points obtained with the pole position in qualifying, second place in the Prefinal and the victory in the Final. The Frenchman Matis Barbe (#821 Lyard/LN Kart-Iame) is chasing him with 48 points. The latter won the Prefinal just ahead of Carenini and the Italian Andrea Giudice (#804 Marra/Tony Kart-Iame), who scored 44 points thanks to the second place in the Final. The other Italian Cristian Comanducci (#806 PKR/Tony Kart-Iame) is following with 29 points as he took the third step on the Lonato podium, and the Monegasque Matteo Giaccardi (#825 Nato/LN Kart-Iame) who scored 21 points.

X30 Senior. Classification after round 1:
1. Danny Carenini (ITA) points 80
2. Matis Barbe (FRA) points 48
3. Andrea Giudice (ITA) points 44
4. Cristian Comanducci (ITA) points 29
5. Matteo Giaccardi (MCO) points 21.
