The rain is the protagonist in the WSK Super Master Series in Cremona

The Tony Kart Racing Team takes part in the second round of the championship, with a line-up of 22 drivers in total in the KZ2, OK, OKJ and MINI categories.

After the podium obtained at the first round of the year in Lonato del Garda, the Tony Kart Racing Team continues its racing season in Cremona with the second round of the WSK Super Master Series. Despite the rain being the protagonist for the entire race weekend, their Tony Kart Racer 401 RR reveals its full potential, powered by the Vortex engines VTZ (KZ2), VTS (OK) and VTJ (OKJ), the “engine division” of OTK Kart Group. Their Tony Kart Rookie also, together with the Vortex VTM, revealed high performance in the MINI Gr.3 and MINI Gr.3 U10 categories.

In KZ2, Marijn Kremers finished all three qualifying heats in the Top 5, in which he obtained second place as the best result (after gaining 10 positions) and he registered the best lap time in the last heat. In the prefinal A, Kremers ends up off the track while he is fighting for first place; then he comes back on track, recovers many positions and gets the fastest lap. The Dutch driver is competitive even in the final and comes close to a top-five finish. There was a good improvement during the weekend for Francesco Celenta and Tom Leuillet as they recovered a total of 15 positions in the qualifying practices and qualifying heats. Finally, Nicola Rossini makes a good debut with the Tony Kart Racing Team.

In OK, David Walther made his first appearance of the season and, at the end of the qualifying heats, he rose 19 positions in the rankings and improved his overall result with a sixth place in the prefinal. Despite the conditions being halfway between dry and wet, the Danish driver took advantage of his experience in the category and finished the final just outside the Top 5 drivers. Tiziano Monza in his fourth race in the Senior category, stood out: the Singaporean driver gained a total of 24 positions in the qualifying practices and qualifying heats, and he closed the final with 18 positions gained from the start of the race. Kai Rillaerts was among the fastest in the category, as shown by the second place in the warm-up on Saturday morning and the three Top 5 finishes in the three qualifying heats, Kai Rillaerts started from the first rows in the final on Sunday afternoon, however, he had to withdrawal during the 6th lap of the race. Thomas Quince and Xavier Avramides were in the final, but then they also withdrew during the last race of the weekend. Many obstacles stopped Sebastiano Pavan from replicating his second place obtained during the previous round in Lonato del Garda, while Xiaoyu Sun made his debut with their team in the official colours.

In OKJ, Scott Kin Lindblom was their highest-placed driver during the race weekend in Cremona. The Swedish driver got a second place and two third places in the qualifying heats and he came close to a place in the top 5 in the prefinal A. In the final, Lindblom had a perfect drive and got into the Top 10, which was useful for the championship rankings. Sebastian Lehtimaki got third place as the best result in the qualifying heats and stood out in the final when he recovered 13 positions. Scott Marsh closed the final in the Top 15 after obtaining a third place in the qualifying heats. Ilie Tristan Crisan continues his really good form in the Junior category, with the second appearance in the final in two consecutive races. Joel Pohjola made the second-best time in group 1 in the qualifying practices and finished twice in the Top 3 in the qualifying heats; unfortunately, the Finnish driver withdrew from the final. Finally, Maria Germano Neto worked really hard with their staff for the next race meeting.

In the MINI Gr.3, Leonardo Gorski was in the top 10 drivers in the ranking at the end of the qualifying heats and got third place in the prefinal on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, the Polish didn't get a good result and had to withdraw in the main final. Oliver Sini got a place in the main final, after obtaining a Top 10 in the prefinal. In the MINI Gr.3 U10, Henri Kumpen was the first of their drivers in the rankings at the end of the final, just ahead of their teammate Tiberius Müller – with a second place in the qualifying heats and a third place in the prefinal B – and Achille Rea, who was twice in Top 3 during the qualifying heats.

There are no breaks for the Tony Kart Racing Team, as they are already on track this weekend (15th - 18th February) in Franciacorta for the third round of the WSK Super Master Series.
