It was an important day at South Garda Karting, Lonato where the qualifying heats at the first of the four rounds of the WSK Super Master Series saw the event contenders coming to the fore from the 265 drivers from 50 different countries contesting KZ2, OK, OKJ and MINI. It has been a good sporting and technical challenge with the participation of all the constructors and a lot of international champions being challenged by several emerging talents.
The German Trefilov leads KZ2.
The German David Trefilov (Maranello SRP/Maranello-TM Racing-Vega) confirmed to be on top of KZ2 after claiming the pole position and winning two heats. Two victories were also scored by the French driver Jeremy Iglesias (CRG Racing Team/CRG-TM Racing), but his position is spoiled by a bad result in the first heat held on Friday, that was won by the Italian Giuseppe Palomba (BirelART Racing/BirelART-TM Racing). The Dutch driver Senna Van Walstijn (Sodikart/Sodikart-TM Racing) had a positive day. He recently won the WSK Champions Cup and was very competitive on this occasion too, as he won one heat.

The pole-sitter from Brazil, Matheus Ferreira (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) is chasing him in P2. The third place is currently occupied by the Brit Freddie Slater (Ricky Flynn Motorsport/LN-Vortex). The Swiss Enea Frey (Ricky Flynn/LN-Vortex) was also among the quickest. He won 3 heats as the Russian Dmitry Matveev (Koski Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex). The Peruvian Andres Cardenas (Energy Corse/Energy-TM Racing) won two heats instead.

The Czech Pesl leads the two Italians Sala and Martinese in MINI.
The classification is quite short in MINI, that is still very open and uncertain. Among the drivers coming from 35 nations, the provisional classification is currently led by the Czech Jindrich Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame-Vega), who won 3 heats and is followed by the Italians Filippo Sala (Team Driver/KR-Iame) and Iacopo Martinese (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame), that respectively won three and two heats.
