The FIA Karting European Championship for Vortex starts with a podium

In Angerville, the drivers powered by our engines obtain excellent results. The DJT engine, especially, conquers two steps of the podium in OK- Junior.

OKJ. Also on the occasion of the French Grand Prix, first appointment of the 2019 FIA Karting European Championships season, the DJT engine is a constant presence in the first positions. The podium of Thomas Ten Brinke (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) and Jamie Day (Lennox Racing Team), the latter after recovering eight positions, crowns a weekend in which the engines of the OTK group have once again confirmed their speed and reliability.

Josep Maria Martì (Tony Kart Racing Team, fourth), Ugo Ugochukwu (Ricky Flynn Motorsport, fifth), Alexander Dunne (Tony Kart Racing Team, seventh) and Kajus Siksnelis (Ward Racing – after a comeback of twelve positions until the tenth place) are actually in the top ten of the Final.

But beyond the final, the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship starts well since Friday for the Vortex brand: James Wharton (Ricky Flynn Motorsport, second), Alexander Dunne (third), Artem Severiukhin (Ward Racing), Jamie Day, Ugo Ugochuckwu and Thomas Ten Brinke are among the ten fastest drivers at the end of the qualifying heats.

The DJT engine proves to be a winning option also in the heats with two victories each for Jamie Day and Thomas Ten Brinke and the first positions of Ugo Ugochukwu, James Wharton and Alexander Dunne. Besides these great results, our engine is also gaining many second and third places also thanks to Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Conrad Laursen (Ricky Flynn Motorsport).

OK. The DST engine is pushing the drivers who chose the Vortex brand to face the competitive line-up of the OK category. Among them, the best are Dino Beganovic (Ward Racing), Sebastian Montoya (Tony Kart Racing Team), Matheus Morgatto (Tony Kart Racing Team), Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Harry Thompson (Ricky Flynn Motorsport).

The Swede of the Ward Racing team is very successful in the heats and gains a second place after being one of the fastest in qualifying (seventh). Morgatto is among the fastest and most constant drivers of the whole weekend: after two second and one third places, with best lap in the heats, and the sixth place in qualifying, he closed the Final in tenth position.

Vortex is still first with Sebastian Montoya, while his teammate Joseph Turney, author of a best lap too, closes third at the end of a 19-positions comeback. Excellent second place also for Harry Thompson, who centers the third best lap for Vortex throughout the weekend.

The next race meeting for the OK and OKJ classes with the FIA Karting European Championship is scheduled for May 19th in Genk; before that, however, KZand KZ2 will get on track in Wackersdorf on May 5th.
