Brazilian Morgatto and Thailand's Tarnvanichkul crowned World Champions

Matheus Morgatto and Enzo Tarnvanichkul have just made FIA Karting history. It had been 24 years since a Brazilian had won a World Championship and Morgatto deserved his title in OK after a perfect run. On the Italian circuit of Sarno, in the sun, Tarnvanichkul became the first ever Thai World Champion.

With the return of the sun and milder weather conditions compared to Qualifying Practice, the 199 drivers entered in the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship - OK and OK-Junior produced a magnificent show throughout the 43 Qualifying Heats. In each category, 72 drivers won their ticket for the Super Heats on Sunday morning, which will precede the long awaited Finals! Matheus Morgatto (BRA) in OK and Enzo Tarnvanichkul (THA) in OK-Junior are provisionally in first place, but the event is far from over.

The Qualifying Heats of the FIA Karting World Championship - OK & Junior were of course very competitive on Saturday 30th October in Campillos. They were also very open as it is very rare to see so many different winners, seven in each category. James Egozi (USA) was the star of the OK-Junior class with a clear round of four wins. In OK, another American, Ugo Ugochukwu, is currently leading.
