The first round of the FIA European Championship for the OK and OK Junior categories is scheduled for this week on the Valencia circuit, in Spain. The Championship will be divided into 4 races which will include, after Spain, France, Slovakia and, finally, Sweden in August. After the preparation races held at the beginning of the season, from this week the competition on the track will be for one of the most prestigious titles of the year, second in importance only to the FIA World Championship.

After 3 days of testing that took place on the Valencia circuit last week, from today onward, the drivers of the direct drive OK and OK-Junior categories, will be busy on the same Spanish track with the 1st round of the Champions of The Future, the karting series organized by RGMMC as training in view of the FIA ​​Karting Championships.

A tireless competitor and leader in the WSK series, Bogdan Cosma Cristofor took another victory in the OK-N Junior category, which is further proof of his determination and unceasing desire to win. In 2024, the talented young Romanian is now on a run of four podiums in four races, including two victories. Having arrived in Franciacorta in the lead of the WSK Super Master Series, the driver from the Forza Racing team took advantage of the opportunity to extend his lead, before tackling the finale at Sarno at the beginning of March.

With 33 confirmed drivers, the official CRG Team promises to be one of the biggest and most competitive for the 2024 international karting season. The CRG Racing Team, which as announced last December, will be coordinated from a technical and organizational point of view by Natalia Balbo and Brandon Nilsson, will be able to count on a mix of experienced drivers and ambitious young ones in all categories.

James Wharton, who performed well in Belgium for the opening round of the FIA Karting European Championship in the OK category, arrived in France with a lot of ambition and the desire to make his mark in this second round of the season. Unfortunately, the Qualifying sessions caused him to plunge down the ranking. Always a fighter, the young Australian driver put in a lot of effort to climb back up, but the final result was not up to the Ferrari Driver Academy driver's expectations.
