Bem vindo and welcome to the 22 nd edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) being hosted at the Kartodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão. Once again, the bond that stretches across the global Rotax family is continued with this highlight of the racing season, where we will witness 394 drivers from across the world compete over the next week at a fantastic venue for the prestigious honour of becoming RMCGF champion.

Emerging talents, mixed weather, close racing, last lap moves and worthy winners: the first International IAME Games provided all the ingredients of a great karting event for the conclusion of the 2020 IAME International season at Portimao! Connor Jupp drove to a sensational on-the-edge win in Senior, Aaron Walker emerged victorious in a rainy Junior Final while Leo Robinson took the Mini victory in a last-lap thriller on the Kartodromo Internacional do Algarve!

Disappointment for the Leclerc by Lennox Racing Team

The FIA Karting World Championship weekend was one of those events marked in red on the Leclerc By Lennox Racing team’s calendar. However, the heavy rain, combined with highly variable weather conditions and the track at the Kartodromo Internacional do Algarve, shuffled the deck several times, making it difficult for drivers from as early on as the timed practice sessions. Finding themselves stuck in the middle of the group, knocks and penalties ultimately prevented them and the team from exploiting their full potential and frustrated much of the development work done with the TM Racing-powered CL Karting by Birel ART chassis.

First Champions of the Future crowned at Portimao

Champions of the Future celebrated the conclusion of its inaugural season last weekend at Portimao with more than 160 drivers competing on the Kartodromo Internacional do Algarve. While Marcus Amand stormed from the midfield to win the OK final, Nikita Bedrin claimed the first Champions of the Future title! Meanwhile, in the Junior class, Ugo Ugochukwu’s dominant win did not prevent Arvid Lindblad from securing the crown at the end of an exciting racing weekend under Portugal’s blue sky!
