FIA Karting 2020 calender adjusted: Competition of Genk postponed to September

Due to the global health concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus), the CIK-FIA has modified the FIA Karting 2020 sporting calendar accordingly. The Competition of Genk (BEL) counting for the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 and for the FIA Karting Academy Trophy initially scheduled for 18th-21st June has been postponed to 3rd-6th September.

FIA World Championships moved from Le Mans to Lonato

Due to the fact that the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) has postponed two major events on its calendar, it will no longer organise the FIA Karting World Championship - KZ, the FIA Karting International Super Cup – KZ2, the third Competition of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy and the FIA Karting Historic Super Cup initially scheduled to take place in Le Mans (FRA) from 10th to 13th September 2020. The World Championship will now be held in Lonato.

The Circuit South Garda Karting has staged the event that awarded the FIA Karting World Championship KZ to the Dutch driver Marijn Kremers on BirelArt-Tm-Bridgestone and the International Super Cup KZ2 to the French Emilien Denner on Sodi-Tm-Bridgestone. The victory in Academy Trophy went to Singapore’s Christian Ho, but the title to the Lithuanian Kajus Siksnelis. The FIA Karting World Championship in Lonato will be remembered for the great participation and the new record of 260 drivers, but also for the exceptional presence of spectators. Such an amount of fans had not been seen at a karting track for a while and crowded the immense grandstand at the South Garda Karting circuit.

CRG in Lonato for the ultimate challenge of the KZ and Supercup KZ2 World Championships

The South Garda Karting race track in Lonato will host the much-awaited FIA World Karting Championships in KZ and Super Cup KZ2. CRG is the manufacturer with the highest number of drivers. It will be in Italy, on the renovated South Garda Karting race track of Lonato del Garda, where the international FIA Karting season-ending event will take place, featuring the much-awaited World Championships for KZ and Supercup KZ2. A highly competitive doubleheader in which CRG boasts some of its most historic successes.
