Italian racing team Iron Lynx will propel a young racer on her first step towards single-seater glory this weekend, as she competes in her first ever car race. Dutch-Spanish driver Maya Weug is 16 years old and having triumphed in last year’s “FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars” programme, has become the first girl to join the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy.

Iron Lynx, the championship-winning motorsport squad and team behind the innovative Iron Dames project, has signed an agreement with Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) and the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission to support the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars programme

19 names have been confirmed by the Racing department of the Italian company, which will be present in all categories, from Mini to KZ, OKJ, OK and KZ2. They will soon be joined by a driver from the "Richard Mille Young Talent Academy" programme who is still to be nominated.
