Turney, Martinese and Gasparovic win in sunny conditions at Val d'Argenton

The weather played an important role in the running of the FIA Karting Val d'Argenton Event. After the changeable and wet weather of the first two days, the sun shone on Sunday and all the races took place on a dry track. Joe Turney (GBR) continued his domination of the OK class to the Final, as did Iacopo Martinese in OK-Junior. Jakub Gasparovic (SVK) won the first 2024 Final of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

With so many participants, so much at stake in the four competing categories and so many races leading up to the Finals, the 2022 FIA Karting event in Le Mans will be remembered as a pure moment of karting, full of individual exploits and team performances, offering a flamboyant spectacle during three intense days. A Swede, Viktor Gustafsson, was crowned FIA Karting World Champion - KZ and three Frenchmen were rewarded: Arthur Carbonnel, winner of the FIA Karting World Cup - KZ2, Thomas Letailleur, winner of the first FIA Karting Masters International Super Cup - KZ2 and Arthur Dorison, winner of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

Milell, a Swedish World Champion in Sweden

The Kristianstad event concluded with pure and hard racing and several twists and turns. Sweden's Noah Milell was finally crowned FIA Karting World Champion - KZ after completely dominating the Final. The FIA Karting International Super Cup - KZ2 was won by Italian Lorenzo Travisanutto after a perfect Final. In the FIA Karting Academy Trophy, David Walther from Denmark won the Final while Maciej Gladysz from Poland won the Trophy.

The Mini now has international technical regulations

As planned, the CIK-FIA has proceeded with the homologation of the chassis, bodywork, brakes, engines, ignition systems, carburettors, intake silencers and tyres for the Group 3 Mini equipment. This approval has been effective since 1st January 2020. The aim is to provide a common technical framework that can be relied on by the ASNs for the different categories dedicated to young Drivers in many countries.
