What was scheduled as a three-day, two-round race weekend at the Adams Motorsports Park in Riverside, California over August 18-20 became a shortened two-day, one-round event. Hurricane Hilary hit the southern California region on Sunday, forcing Superkarts! USA to postpone the Round Five action scheduled for that day. First, the sixth and final round of the Superkarts! USA regional program was contested at the CalSpeed Karting facility. Secondly, the Fontana, California facility hosted its final regional event prior to its closing later this year. CalSpeed has been the site to many Superkarts! USA events during its history, and the final chapter of that story helped to decide this year’s series champions. On the May 14-15 weekend, the Superkarts! USA regional series returns to the Buttonwillow Raceway Park, site of the opening round last month. The Buttonwillow, California facility will welcome back the racers, this time taking to the 7/10-mile circuit in the clockwise direction. Portions of the $70,000 prize package for the season were handed out last month at the opener, with more to be presented at the popular podium ceremony following the Round Two action as drivers push forward in their championship chases. USA flagship regional program contested at Monterey Bay Karters home track Bas Kaligis / Thursday, July 18, 2019 0 5112 Article rating: No rating The California ProKart Challenge began the second half of the 2019 championship season, hosting Round Four at the Marina Airport Kart Track on July 13-14. The Superkarts! USA regional program took to the home of the Monterey Bay Karters for the two-day event, with practice and qualifying held Saturday, Prefinal and Final held on Sunday. The weather was unseasonably colder, with strong winds dropping the temperature, making the July weekend feel like a winter trip along the Pacific Ocean. The racing was not affected, however, as a number of drivers added to their win totals to help their title chase hopes. Read more
