Strong performance for Morgatto in Slovakia

Matheus Morgatto was undoubtedly one of the best OK performers last weekend on the Slovak Karting Center circuit, the venue for the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series.

The CL Racing Team's Brazilian driver immediately got to grips with the Slovakian track, which will host the third round of the European Championship at the end of June. He was able to use the full potential of his Birel ART / TM Kart to stay at the top of the results sheets right up to the start of the Super Heats. However, the new Slovakian circuit wasn't easy to get to grips with, with its very twisty, old-style layout and a succession of changes of pace. The weather was far from favourable, with frequent variations in grip due to unpredictable light showers.

Morgatto started the Qualifying session in 3rd place, with the fastest time in Group 3, well ahead of his rivals. He confirmed his competitiveness with two wins, a 3rd and a 4th place in the Qualifying Heats to maintain 3rd place in the intermediate rankings. It was then a cruel disappointment for him and the team not to be able to take the start of the Final to defend his solid chances.

"We had decided to test some new chassis in Slovakia," said Jordon Lennox, Birel ART Racing's OK Team Manager. "Development was hampered by the changing weather conditions and the races did not turn out to our advantage. Only Matheus Morgatto was able to put in a good performance. The work continues thanks to all the data recorded and we'll be in a better position to contest the next stage of the European Championship in just over two weeks' time.

Matheus Morgatto was well on his way to a good result before he was caught out by bad luck. Nevertheless, we can be justifiably satisfied with the Brazilian's first-class performance. We were able to record a lot of data on this new circuit in preparation for the next stage of the European Championship in just over two weeks' time. It will be a new challenge for Birel ART!”
