Spanish karting star Dani Briz joins Speedhouse in Club Challenge

Lucas Lasserre’s Speedhouse team welcomes a new driver in Dani Briz, 17-year old karting star from Spain. Briz will drive the #33 Ford Mustang in the regularity division – the Club Challenge – as the newest driver to join Speedhouse’s developmental Academy Driver Program, which has produced many talents that have found their way to success in the official European NASCAR championship. The Valencia native is scheduled to make his first competitive outing in his home race: The NASCAR GP Spain at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, which will host the season opener for the eighth time in history on April 13-14.

"I‘m just really happy and excited to confirm officially that I will be a Speedhouse driver in the 2024 NWES season,” said Briz on his signing with the French team. “I will use this year to not only continue to compete in karting, but also to test and work on my driving technique. It will be totally different and I need to learn. The switch from karting to EuroNASCAR will be a big challenge, but I have full confidence in Lucas Lasserre and the Speedhouse team to support me. They will give me the right time to get ready. I will also integrate myself into the Speedhouse Academy Program and I’m excited to be part of it.”

Briz will partner with Florian Richard, a fellow Speedhouse developmental driver who will be graduating to EuroNASCAR 2 after a successful Club Challenge campaign in 2023. The Spanish driver was introduced to Lasserre by Alfonso de Orleans, team owner of race-winning EuroNASCAR team Racing Engineering, and has already tested the 400 hp Pure Racing machine during a private testing session in the winter. With the mentoring from one of EuroNASCAR’s top drivers in Lasserre, he will be for sure among the drivers to watch for the future.

“I’m really happy to confirm Dani Briz onboard at Speedhouse for the 2024 season and more,” Lasserre said on his team’s newest signing. “Dani is a pure talent with an amazing experience and results in karting. The level of the Spanish championship is high and Dani has won races and championships there! I discovered Dani and his family through my friend Alfonso de Orleans, who was my team boss when I competed in Formula 3 in Spain. It was important to find the right timing to introduce Dani to prepare him to be competitive from the start.”

“Dani tested the car last winter and I was impressed by his driving. He is also a good kid with the right attitude. In addition, Dani is selected and supported to use the CETDM (Motor Sports Training Center) of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo where currently academic and sports training sessions are held. He is a pure Valencia native where we have the first NASCAR Whelen Euro Series event there each season. Dani will join our Speedhouse Academy Driver Program and I’m sure that the future will be great for all of us.”

The NASCAR GP Spain will be held on 13-14 April and is one of the seven events that EuroNASCAR will headline for the spectacular 2024 season. All races will be broadcast live on EuroNASCAR's YouTube channel and on numerous television channels around the world. Fans from Spain can purchase tickets from Circuit Ricardo Tormo’s official website to watch the season-opening round live.
