Bart Luijkx / Monday, November 15, 2021 / Categories: News, Singleseater Spanish F4: Dilano Van’t Hoff wins first race in Barcelona Dilano Van’t Hoff has achieved his tenth victory of the season. The MP Motorsport driver won the first race of the weekend ahead of Pepe Marti and Noah Degnbol. After a start in which poleman Daniel Maciá had to retire due to mechanical problems with his car, Martí and Van’t Hoff took the lead of the race. With a margin of almost three seconds over the chasing group, both drivers fought until the last lap for the victory of the race. Although Pepe Martí led for most of the race, Van’t Hoff managed to take advantage of his slipstream on the main straight to overtake the Campos Racing driver. The Dutch driver did manage to fend off Martí’s replies and crossed the finish line in first place by a slim margin of one second. Third place went to Noah Degnbol. The Danish driver returns to the podium four rounds later. After threatening Dilano Van’t Hoff’s second position during the first laps, he suffered from tyre wear in the last moments of the race. This situation allowed Rik Koen to get behind his teammate’s diffuser and both fought until the chequered flag for the last step of the podium. After this first race at the Circuit de Barcelona, Pepe Martí has tightened the fight for second place in the championship. The gap between Sebastian Ogaard and the Spaniard has been reduced to 23 points with two races to go before the end of the season.
