SODI Racing Team - Magnificent double for Sodikart in Italy

After a sparkling start to the season marked by two pole positions and very high overall performances in the KZ2 category, Émilien Denner dominated the Final of the second of the four WSK Super Master Series events at the wheel of his Sodi-TM. In his new colours, Giuseppe Palomba confirmed the technical and sporting choices made by the French factory by securing a one-two finish on the Cremona circuit in the presence of all the major international teams.

Continuity in performance

From the 2023 FIA Karting Championships to this year's international events, including Las Vegas, the Sodi Racing Team has never stopped fighting for victory. Whatever the characteristics of the circuit and the weather conditions, the Sodi Sigma chassis proves its efficiency and competitiveness. With its KZ drivers Émilien Denner and Giuseppe Palomba, the French brand is off to a flying start in 2024, as the French driver explains.

"Even though the season started very early, we were well prepared and perfectly in place for the first races of the WSK Promotion. At Lonato, I took both pole positions in the Champions Cup and in the opening race of the Super Master Series. It wasn't all success, but I felt that victory was close."

Fast in the dry and in the rain

At Cremona, Denner and Palomba immediately showed their mettle during the first Free Practice sessions held on a dry track. But on the weekend of 11th February in Lombardy, the weather turned to rain, which didn't stop the Sodi Racing Team from remaining in contention for victory, quite the contrary. In the heats, Denner was 3rd with a win and two fastest race laps, while Palomba secured a solid 5th place.

Sunday began with the Frenchman setting the fastest time in the warm-up and a top three in Prefinal A, just behind his team-mate. The Final then turned into a demonstration for the Sodi Racing Team as they mastered the conditions perfectly. "The amount of water on the track wasn't always the same over the three days, but we were always able to react, especially as our chassis is so effective," commented Émilien. "I got off to a good start and was able to overtake the leader in the first third of the Final and extend my lead. The work carried out by the Sodikart team and its partner CPB Sport proved impeccable, as did the TM Kart factory engines, which are always extremely competitive."

First podium with Sodikart for Giuseppe Palomba

Giuseppe Palomba got off to a good start in January at Lonato on his debut with his new team (leader of the WSK Champions Cup Final before retiring), and rounded off Sodikart's brilliant performance by climbing to the second step of the podium after a faultless race. Denner and Palomba moved up to 2nd and 3rd positions in the provisional WSK Super Master Series standings, which augurs well for the rest of the series in Franciacorta and Sarno.
