SODI Racing Team - Another victory for Sodikart and Van Walstijn against strong competition

Two races, two victories! The season has certainly started under the best auspices for the Sodi Racing Team and its new 2022 Sodi chassis. The Dutchman Senna Van Walstijn has once again shown that he has all the qualities needed to represent the French brand at the highest level of KZ. Facing the big international teams that took part in this WSK Super Master Series in Lonato, Sodikart once again won masterfully, while confirming its great competitiveness in Junior.

A few days after its magnificent victory in the WSK Champions Cup, the Sodi Racing Team returned to the South Garda Karting of Lonato with the same determination. Faced with an even bigger field, including many of the teams that will be taking part in the next FIA Karting Championships, the Sodikart drivers did not disappoint. In Timed Practice, Senna Van Walstijn achieved another pole position, making the most of the very high potential of his equipment. After solid heats, the Dutchman followed up with two magnificent solo runs in his Prefinal and then in the Final.

What a start to the season for Sodikart!
"Sodikart can be proud of this new victory, which comes in a very competitive context," commented Mansel Smith, team manager of the Sodi Racing Team. "The Sodi 2022 chassis is really well designed and allows us to exploit the tyres to the full, whether it be in a very short time, as shown by the pole position, or over the length of a Final. Senna was exceptional, he confirmed all his talent and his very promising start to the season. Of course, I'm a little disappointed for Emilien Denner, who was the victim of an incident in Qualifying, before setting fastest laps in the race during the event. In one heat he gained no less than 21 places. He deserved to be on the podium with Senna. I also want to congratulate the excellent work done by the CPB Sport structure from a technical, strategic and organisational point of view."

Arthur Carbonnel consistently battled with the best and concluded his Final race in an extremely positive 7th place with a view to the next big events of the season in KZ2.

Tye and Consani create a sensation in Junior
In OK-Junior, the objective to get a new podium as at the WSK Champions Cup was largely possible for Nathan Tye and Andy Consani. Both the British and the French driver were able to win in the Qualifying Heats. Unfortunately, the pair were unlucky in some clashes in the tumultuous Junior field, depriving them of a better place on the starting grid of the Final. Fast and combative, Tye managed to come back to 5th under the chequered flag, before being relegated to 9th following a penalty. As for Consani, he managed to move up from 23rd to 16th position in this very competitive Final.

"Once again, the team coaching our young drivers has shown its excellent skills. The Sodi-TM packages promise us a brilliant season," concluded Mansel Smith with great optimism.
