Slater moves up to Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine with PREMA

PREMA Racing is proud to announce that 2024 Italian Formula 4 Champion Freddie Slater will continue competing with the team in 2025. The 16-year-old British sensation joined PREMA’s Formula 4 operation in late 2023, with impressive runs in his first two F4 outings, and after an incredibly successful season, he will now step up to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.

Slater claimed the 2024 F4 UAE title early in the year, and then delivered an incredible run in the 2024 Italian Formula 4 Championship, winning the drivers’ title with one round to go. He is still on course to set the series record for the most wins in a season.

Coming from a successful karting career, which included OKJ World Championship title in 2020, the OKJ European Championship and Champions Of The Future series titles in 2021 and the European Championship in KZ2 in 2023, Slater won the Ginetta Junior Championship, and also competed in British Formula 4. Joining PREMA for the Euro 4 Championship, he cruised an incredible debut pole at Monza, and quickly became a leading contender of the series. This year, he won 13 races in Italian F4 to be crowned champion, and two Euro 4 race en-route to second place in the series.

Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“Freddie has left an amazing impression this year. The number of races he won, and the way he won them, revealed an incredible potential and we are proud to keep working with him for the next step of his career in Formula Regional. This has proven to be a challenging championship to adapt to, but with Freddie’s skill set, together with our support, we will be extremely competitive very soon.”

“I’m just super super happy to stay with PREMA for another year. My journey just started but hopefully, this means many more years to come with this great team. Massive thanks to Angelo and Rene for placing their trust in me to do the job and for giving me another opportunity to go for some more race wins and hopefully, more championships. Can’t wait to get working!”
