Bas Kaligis / Thursday, January 31, 2019 / Categories: Rotax Rotax Max Grand Finals winner Tijmen van der Helm from karts to Formula 4 This weekend we welcome top karting talent Tijmen van der Helm to Xcel Motorsport here at Yas Marina Circuit. From the Netherlands, Tijmen tested back in December in Dubai, and having just turned 15 he can now make his single-seater debut after an extremely impressive karting career which includes becoming winner of the 2017 Grand Finals Rotax Max in the Junior Rotax Category, along with 2nd place in the CIK Academy in 2017. Although Tijmen has very little racecar experience, he'll be one to watch: “We are extremely happy to welcome Tijmen to the 2019 driver line up," said team manager Paul Hardy. "We've been following his karting career for the last few years now, so it’s great to finally see him make the move into F4. We will be working really hard to develop Tijmen to the highest level before he goes on to compete in a European F4 series.” Previous Article 2019 International Karting season kicks off in Adria for Kosmic Racing Department Next Article Kartmesse Offenbach am Main: summary of the organizer - 27th IKA-KART2000 Print 8187 Rate this article: No rating Tags: World ChampionDubaiXcel MotorsportYas Marina CircuitJunior Rotax CategoryCIK AcademyEuropean F4 seriesTijmen van der Helm Comments Please login or register to post comments.
