Rotax Grand Festival set for UK debut in autumn

Gunskirchen – BRP-Rotax is pleased to reveal the location the 2024 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Festival for the Micro MAX and Mini MAX, in collaboration with Motorsport UK. Karting North East and Warden Law Kart Club, near Sunderland in the north of England, will be the first British venue to host this unique event for the youngest Rotax drivers on September 20 to 22, 2024. Supported by the Authorized Rotax Distributor for Kart in the UK, J.A.G. Rotax, prizes include RMC Grand Finals 2024 tickets for the Micro- and Mini MAX champions at the Rotax racing season highlight in Sarno, Italy from October 19 to 26.


Following the success of the Rotax Grand Festival over the years, the concept to offer young drivers the chance to experience competitive racing within an international field, enables them to develop their race skills at another level. By visiting new tracks and different countries, it extends the opportunity for newcomers to join an exciting, fun and fair contest, sharing many great battles. With the racing live-streamed throughout the weekend, the Rotax community from around the world can tune in to watch all the closely fought track action on YouTube.


There will be brand new Rotax engines to be won by the top-finishing privateers in the duel for the Micro- and Mini MAX titles, plus stacks more to win, making up the amazing prize pool from Rotax UK. The RMC Grand Festival will run alongside the program of the Motorsport UK Rotax E Plate, expanding the international field with Junior MAX and Senior MAX. An additional RMCGF 2024 ticket will be awarded to the leading UK-licenced driver in the Rotax Senior MAX class to compete in the Rotax DD2 category at the prestigious showdown in Italy.


The RMC Global Regulations will apply using the latest Rotax engine specs for the Micro and Mini classes, with control fuel and Parc fermé MOJO Racing Tyres. Participants require a minimum Motorsport UK or ASN National Licence with a starting permission from their ASN. The E Plate competitors must have an Interclub Licence. This event will be included on the FIA Karting Ranking System. It will be a three-day meeting beginning from Friday with official practice, where the format is then Timed Qualifying, Heats, Super Heat and Final to decide the results. The RMC Grand Festival 2024 categories and age limits:  
    Rotax 125 Micro MAX       8 to 11 years   (2012 - 2015) 
    Rotax 125 Mini MAX       10 to 13 years   (2010 - 2013)


The 1,200-metre Warden Law circuit features on the British Karting Championship calendar and provides an ideal complex to host the Grand Festival. It combines a quality track and facilities with the ability to host prominent races while having good proximity to airports, trains and local ports. Warden Law has been instrumental in nurturing young karting talent in the UK in recent years. The team is very enthusiastic about supporting this popular Rotax event that will launch them onto the global stage, as they aim to make it a most memorable experience.
