Bas Kaligis / Monday, April 19, 2021 / Categories: Singleseater Reece Ushijima returns to BRDC British F3 with Hitech GP Reece Ushijima will contest his second season in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship in 2021. He remains with Hitech GP, the team with which he made his debut in the series last year. The California-born driver finished 11th in the final 2020 BRDC British F3 standings, after joining the championship just ahead of its delayed start last summer. Ushijima achieved a best result of second place, finishing as runner-up twice in total, and was a frequent contender in the top ten. Earlier this year, the 18-year-old raced in the FIA Asian F3 Championship with the same team, claiming a pair of Rookie Class wins. Prior to racing in F3 with Hitech, Ushijima raced in Formula Ford 1600 and the Asian-based MRF Challenge in 2019. Ushijima joins an expanded, three-car Hitech GP line-up for 2021, the team's second year in the UK's leading single-seater championship, following the earlier announcements of Bart Horsten and Sebastian Alvarez. Reece Ushijima said: "I'm thrilled to be back for another season of British F3 with Hitech GP. The team and I had a strong season last year where I personally learned a lot, and this year I'm ready to put all of that to practice. Super grateful for the opportunity and can't wait to get the season started." The 2021 BRDC British F3 Championship is scheduled to begin at Brands Hatch on 22/23 May.
