R04 Mugello - Italian Formula 4 Race Preview
PREMA Powerteam will be back on track this weekend for the fourth round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship at Mugello. The Italian squad will field a strong 5-car operation with the recent addition of Russian Kirill Smal. The historic Mugello Circuit, featuring a bold layout flowing through the Tuscan countryside, will offer a challenging but exciting environment for all drivers, with the weather conditions expected to play a major role.
With a competitive and consistent performance in the first three rounds of 2020, Gabriele Minì will line-up at Mugello as the current championship leader. The 15-year-old Italian won three times and scored five podium finishes, finishing in the points in all nine races held so far. Dino Beganovic also scored a podium finish, barely missing the same achievement in two other occasions. With one pole in the books at Imola, he showed plenty of speed potential which he hopes to put to fruition at Mugello.
Sebastian Montoya and Gabriel Bortoleto were consistent points scorers too, and are looking to make a step after delivering high-quality runs and solid finishes. The all-rookie PREMA Powerteam contingent will include Smal, a 15-year-old Russian making his second start in the series.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"It's always a pleasure to race at Mugello, one of the world's most famous racetracks and also a Formula 1 venue this year. We will field five drivers, and we are confident in our potential. We hope to see all of them fight at the front and gain valuable experience, considering the difficult weather conditions expected."
