Prema Powerteam and Sebastian Montoya extend partnership into 2021

Prema Powerteam is delighted to announce the continuation of its partnership with Sebastian Montoya. The 15-year-old Colombian-American will keep driving for the team's F4 operation for the bulk of the Italian Formula 4 Championship and selected rounds of the German series.

Montoya, son of Formula 1 race winner and double Indy 500 champion Juan Pablo Monotya, enjoyed a positive rookie season despite the logistic challenges experienced in early 2020. He eventually scored multiple top-5 finishes and honed his racecraft through experience, laying good foundations for 2021 which will be key for the development of his professional career.

In the offseason, he went back to karting to keep himself trained and will soon be back in Italy to begin testing.

Angelo Rosin - Team Principal

“We are very pleased to work with Sebastian again for 2021. Last year, he didn’t have the easiest rookie season, but he showed great potential and we cannot wait to see him progress even further in the season ahead. We are making good progress with our preparations and we look forward to hitting the track soon with our full line-up.”

Sebastian Montoya

“I’m super happy to be with Prema once again in F4. Last year, the team helped me massively to learn and improve throughout the season, and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together after one year under my belt!"
