Podium-finisher Pearson targets top spot in 2024 with Fortec GB3 return

Fortec Motorsport has confirmed that GB3 Championship podium-finisher Edward Pearson will return to the front-running outfit for the 2024 season. The 16-year-old from Dorking had a good learning year in the series, having stepped up from British F4, including a third place in difficult conditions to open the season at Oulton Park.

Edward followed that up at the Donington Park season finale with a second place in the concluding race of the year. He also scored a good seventh at the challenging Spa-Francorchamps in June and finished in the top five on four other occasions.

In 2022 the youngster clinched a pair of fifth places in Formula 4 – on the tricky Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit – and was impressive in karting, as well as taking a maiden car racing podium in Ginetta Juniors in 2021. Now back for a second season in the GB3 Championship, Edward has his eyes set on being right at the front of the field.

Edward Pearson said: “I am happy to be running with Fortec Motorsport once again in 2024. The team and I had a good year, so we’re all going to work hard over the winter to make sure we’re fighting at the front when the season starts. “We had some good results this year, but we want to do even better and be battling for wins as we build on everything we’ve learned so far.”

Oliver Dutton, Fortec Motorsport Team Principal said: “We’re very happy that Edward will be racing with us in the GB3 Championship once again. It was really impressive for him to finish on the podium twice in his first season of what is a tough series and against some strong rivals. “We’ve enjoyed working with him to fully harness his potential and are glad to be continuing that journey through the 2024 season in what will no doubt be another competitive grid of drivers.”
