Bas Kaligis / Saturday, September 10, 2022 / Categories: Singleseater Paul Aron takes his fifth pole position of the season at the Red Bull Ring Paul Aron confirmed his top form at Red Bull Ring claiming his fifth pole position of the year in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at the end of a thrilling qualifying session. Prema Racing’s Estonian driver topped the timesheet in Group A with a lap of 1:26.737, which was 0.152 seconds faster than RPM‘s newcomer Pierre-Louis Chovet, who finished second ahead championship leader Dino Beganovic (Prema Racing). In Austria Eduardo Barrichello (Arden Motorsport) was the protagonist of a great performance thanks to his leadership in Group B, allowing him to start from the front row alongside Aron. Best qualifying of the season also for the other RPM standard bearer Owen Tangavelou, second ahead of Gabriele Minì (ART Grand Prix) who will start from the third row with Beganovic. In seventh and eighth overall positions followed Maceo Capietto (Monolite Motorsport) and Hadrien David (R-ace GP), while Sebastian Montoya (Prema Racing) and Joshua Dufek (Van Amersfoort Racing) completed the top-10. Race 1 is scheduled at 1.45pm (30’+ 1lap), with live streaming on official YouTube and Facebook of the series (links at formularegionaleubyalpine.com).
