Parolin on the gas as soon as racing starts

The double WSK Super Master Series event held in Adria at the beginning of July marked the new start of the 2020 racing season after the long interruption of COVID-19. Impacted like all Italian manufacturers by long weeks of lockdown, Parolin Racing Kart has relaunched its activity with motivation increased tenfold that has already borne fruit on the track. In the factory team, Matheus Morgatto in OK and Maciej Gladysz in Mini were the spearheads of the brand in Adria.

For this highly regulated return, Parolin Racing Kart confirmed its place among the biggest chassis manufacturers in terms of quantity and results, all categories combined. Representing nearly a third of the Mini line-up, the Veneto-based brand can be proud to have ensured a 100% Parolin top three in Qualifying and 50% of the top 10 in the Final.

"We are obviously delighted to be back to racing after a difficult period for everyone," said Marco Parolin. "Technicians and drivers have made a lot of effort to prepare and race during this long hot week while respecting the new infection control rules. The performances from Morgatto in OK and Gladysz in Mini deserve to be commended. We were also very close to the top three in the three categories in which we were entered. This is a strong signal for the whole team as the pace of the races will not decrease for many weeks to come. We are ready to face this second part of the season with great determination. We hope that all our drivers will be able to join us soon."

In Mini, the WSK Super Master Series ended on a very encouraging note thanks to Maciej Gladysz's 3rd place in the Championship. The young Pole fought to the end with great spirit. Winner of two heats and holder of two fastest laps, he first finished 5th in the Final on Saturday before mounting the Final podium on Sunday. After being in the top 10 of the Championship at the beginning of the season, he managed to reach a great 3rd place. Frenchman Guillaume Bouzar had some great races after average Qualifying times, but it was during the Final stages that he was able to give his best by lining up very encouraging 10th and 11th places. A newcomer to the team, the Spaniard Sandro Perez Sanchez showed very good potential despite several setbacks. After a few convincing runs, he was able to qualify for the Finals, even though luck was not always in his favour.

Maxwell Dodds showed excellent competitiveness in OK-Junior for his first competition with Parolin. Very combative in the heats, the young Briton, unfortunately, had to drop out at the beginning of the Final on Saturday, but made up for it on Sunday by coming back to 6th position after being 3rd a few laps before the finish. A rookie in the category, Valerio Rinicella made a solid run in Round 3 in 4th after some good heats, which allowed him to start from the front row of his Prefinal. The Italian had to retire in view of the finish of the Final when he was 13th. The fourth round was more complicated for him, but he ended up gaining 12 places in the Final on Sunday. His compatriot Giovanni Trentin fought in the pack after an average Qualifying, but made good comebacks in both Finals.

The Brazilian Matheus Morgatto excited every observer of the OK category. Fast in Qualifying, his race intelligence allowed him to do better and better in his heats. Solid in the Prefinals, he finished in the top five in the Final on Saturday and 4th on Sunday. 43rd in the Championship after the second round, he recovered admirably to finish the WSK Super Master Series in 6th position. The double meeting in Adria was more difficult for the Australian James Wharton whose potential could never fully show during a week punctuated by setbacks.

More motivated than ever, Parolin Racing Kart will be back in competition next week at Sarno for the opening of the WSK Euro Series.
