Motorsport UK KZ2 Championship gears up for new season

The KZ2 series, supported by Zip Kart and Le Cont, will once again join the British Kart Championships bill this season, with a three-round contest for the gearbox class.

The fastest and most spectacular short circuit class in the UK will begin in August with Rowrah opening the proceedings before a double header finale at Fulbeck in October. This short, sharp series will be further strengthened by a fantastic support package from Zip Kart, the Le Cont tyre distributor in the UK. Any driver already registered for the Championship or any driver that registers before 1 August, will receive their race tyres free of charge when entering for round one. In addition, those drivers will also pay a reduced registration fee of £85.00, kindly supported by Zip Kart and Le Cont once again.

Kart Manager at Motorsport UK, Dan Parker, said: “With the coronavirus situation, we have had to really work hard to pull all of our championship calendars together, to make sure all of our classes get to go out there and race in 2020. Although it is slightly shorter given the circumstances, we are delighted that we will have a KZ2 British Champion in 2020. I must also thank Zip Kart and Le Cont for the continued support and the tyre and registration support, which is a great incentive for those who register before 1 August.

“The KZ class is always very popular at championship rounds and I am sure this year will be no exception. We recently sent a driver survey to current and previous competitors, which received a terrific response and gave us some great feedback on the class in general. Using the knowledge from drivers, teams and the support from Zip Kart we are hoping that we can grow the class in the future, both at the all-important club level and also BKC level.”
