Monolite Racing, Pietro Armanni join forces for FRECA 2022 campaign

Monolite Racing and Pietro Armanni are set to join forces to contest the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine season. Armanni will drive one of three cars that Monolite Racing is planning to field for its second season in the series. In 2021, the Italian outfit showed good potential, claiming 10th place in the Team standings with four top-10 finishes and the best result of 5th.

Armanni has chosen Monolite Racing for his step up to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. In 2021, he experienced a positive rookie season in the Italian Formula 4 Championship, where he managed to score 8 points. He was also 10th in the Rookie standings, with two appearances on the podium at Imola and in the final round of Monza.

Since the end of his Formula 4 campaign, Armanni underwent an intense testing program, getting comfortable at the wheel of the Monolite Racing’s Formula Regional car. He will be back into action for the first Collective Test of the season, which will take place on March 23-24 at Barcelona.

Rudi Mariotto - Team Principal
“I am delighted to announce Pietro’s arrival at Monolite. He impressed us with his approach and pace at Barcelona. Being a rookie, he will have a lot to learn, especially with the high competitive level of the series, but he has the potential to perform.”

Pietro Armanni
“I am thrilled to join this extremely professional team after completing two test days together in Barcelona. I immediately found great chemistry with the staff and the car. After a season in Formula 4, where I grew up professionally, I will step up to Formula Regional by Alpine, a very competitive championship. I am sure I can achieve some excellent results with hard work and with the help of the team, as they have gained crucial experience over the last few years. I want to thank Monolite Racing for the opportunity, my manager, and my sponsors. A challenging year awaits us, and I will give my best to achieve my goals”.
