Monolite Racing and Dexter Patterson scores first points of 2021 at Spa-Francorchamps

Monolite Racing captured its first points of the season in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine with a great performance in the second race at Spa-Francorchamps. The team headed by Rudi Mariotto had already inched closer to the overall top-10 on several occasions with Pietro Delli Guanti, who has been impressing in the championship's rookie ranking so far. In Belgium, the Italian was unlucky, facing traffic in Q1 and then being involved in an unavoidable crash in race 2. The Monolite Racing banner was held high by Dexter Patterson, who quickly found good chemistry with the car and set the ninth fastest lap time in the opening qualifying session, which set the grid for Race 2  under pouring rain.

Patterson was also very quick in the dry, fighting hard throughout Race 1 between more experienced drivers. With great character, the former world karting star held off several overtake attempts. He also gained two positions in the process to cross the finish line in P7, P2 among the rookies. That gave Monolite Racing the team's first valuable 6 points in the series. It was a great boost of confidence for the Italian squad, which is impressing straight away among the most famous teams of the single-seater scene.
