Mercedes junior Yuanpu Cui joins Argenti with Prema for the 2025 GB3 Championship

Argenti with Prema has confirmed the signing of Yuanpu Cui for the 2025 GB3 Championship. Cui steps up as he continues his racing journey with the team in partnership with Prema.

After an impressive season in the British F4 Championship, where the Chinese driver secured second place in the rookie standings and ninth overall in his first season in single-seaters, his promotion to GB3 represents the next step in his motorsport career. Prior to his single-seater graduation, Cui had impressed in karting, finishing second in the Chinese Rotax series in 2016, before moving up to international competition.

The 16-year-old was a front-runner as he joined the world stage, with a highlight including the runner-up spot in the 2020 Andrea Margutti Trophy in the OK Junior division, and was the winner of the ROK Cup Superfinal the following season. Cui's maiden campaign of single-seater action in British F4 included an outright victory at Snetterton and a podium at Knockhill, while taking nine Rookie class wins.

Yuanpu Cui said: “I’m very excited to be racing in the GB3 Championship with Argenti. I’m very pleased that the team and Mercedes-AMG F1 have given me this opportunity. I do believe it will be a challenge, but I’m determined and will maximise my performance, and hopefully the results will come together”.

Team Principal Michael Meadows said: “We are very happy to see Yuanpu progress with the team up to GB3 and take the next step in his career. In F4 he has proven to be quick and obtained good results throughout 2024, so we are looking forward to seeing what he can achieve in GB3. The new car provides a level playing field for all the drivers, so the timing works well to make the move up.”
