LINE-UP CRG 2022! Season kicks of for the CRG RACING TEAM

The Lonato track in Italy will host the first official 2022 appearance of the CRG Racing Team. The 1st round of the WSK Master is scheduled on the Lombard track from 26th to 30th January and it is one of the most important meetings for International karting on the sidelines of the FIA Karting events.

For the CRG official team it will be the first opportunity, after the winter tests, to compete in the race with the major competitors and therefore to get the first official feedbacks from the 2022 chassis. CRG colors play a leading role, both from a sporting and a commercial point of view.

The Lonato race will also be the first opportunity to see Viktor Gustavsson in action with CRG in the top class of karting. After impressing the CRG technicians during winter tests, he now aims to gain some experience during the race, in view of a season that will see him among the sure protagonists. His more award-winning confirmed teammates, Jeremy Iglesias and Alex Irlando, will also be some of the key-players and they will both be on the track in Lonato for their first race of the season. Nilsson, Tonteri, Pescador and the rookie with the CRG colors Natalia Balbo will also be competing in KZ. For the whole KZ team, the engine partner will be TM, both with the direct support of the Pesaro Factory and the preparer Gianfranco Galiffa.

In the OK category CRG will line-up the Brazilian Gabriel Gomez, protagonist of the last FIA World Championship in this class and responsible for carrying out the most important part of the tests for the chassis line dedicated to the direct drive classes.

Another Brazilian will be the CRG's bearer also in the Junior category, where Fiorentino will be at the start, while in Mini the German Emilio Bernd and the Russian Nikita Gerasimets will be defending the CRG colors.

The 2022 competitive programs for the CRG official team include participation in the entire WSK Master Series, the Champions of the Future and all FIA Karting events, as well as a selection of events and Trophies that will be evaluated during the season. Even the drivers line-up is not yet closed, as if for the KZ class everything has been defined for some time with a "dream team" in terms of experience, some agreements for the OK and OK Junior classes for what concerns the European Championship which will start in April, are still being arranged.

The WSK Master program in Lonato includes 2 days of free practice (Wednesday and Thursday) and the start of the event on Friday, when the qualifying practice and the first qualifying heats will take place. To follow the action on the track on the WSK website, live timing will be active from Friday on and Sunday's races will be broadcast in live streaming.

CRG drivers’ expectations:

Viktor Gustavsson (KZ): “I can't wait to get on the track for my first race with the CRG colors. The feeling with the team and the technical material during the winter tests was very good and I think we can be competitive in a short time. This race against all the most important teams will give us excellent indications on the work done and on what to do in view of the FIA European Championship which will be our first important goal of the season”.

Gabriel Gomez (OK): “I am very happy with the opportunity that CRG has given me to race here in Europe and I will try to do my best to contribute to the development of the 2022 chassis, but also to achieve the best in terms of results. We are satisfied with the tests done last week and we want to do well since the very beginning to start the season in the best possible way".
