Leonardo Marseglia on podium in Val Vibrata

Another top performance for the Ostuni-born driver Leonardo Marseglia: in Val Vibrata, on occasion of the last round of the ACI Karting Italian Championship, the BirelART’s flag-bearer finishes third the first race and demonstrates once again his value with the shifterkart.

Marseglia starts the weekend with the 9th chrono overall in qualifying, but soon during the heats, he shows his pace finishing 5th and 4th in the two heats. After the qualification races, Leonardo gets the 4th spot on the starting grid and transformates it in a podium position at the end of race 1.

Race 2 has a similar, but bitter, plot: while Leonardo was overtaking to get the third spot, the driver who was running on P3 shutted the door and pushed out of the race the BirelART #151.

“It could have been a weekend to remember with another double podium, but it didn’t go that way. Unfortunately, a contact forced me to retire with just two laps to go while I was fighting for the second podium of the weekend. Bitter conclusion of a positive championship though! I’d like to thank BirelART, Galiffa Engines, Antonio and Gianluca for the amazing support: the kart was perfect and only a contact had the possibility to stop me from taking another podium this weekend! I feel good for the rest of the season, in three weeks I’ll fight for the FIA Karting KZ2 International Super Cup in Lonato and I’ll give all myself to make them proud of me!”

Leonardo will test in Lonato before taking part to the FIA Karting KZ2 International Super Cup from September 20th to 22nd.

Here are the results of the event.
