Kosmic Kart Racing Department: Drivers and races 2021
The Kosmic Kart Racing Department, the official racing division of the OTK Kart Group brand, is ready for the 2021 international racing season. This year, our team will focus all its attentions, once again, on OK and OKJ, categories par excellence reserved to the young motorsport talents. Altogether, 6 are the drivers ready to get on track in the FIA Karting and WSK events, in addition to some other events that are still to be defined.
In general, the Racing Department, led by Olivier Marechal, aims at consolidating its 2021 year, with the confirmation of several drivers. However, there are also some news. The OK class, still has back at the start with our colours Luigi Coluccio, always in the top positions in 2020, so much as to enter the top 5 in the final ranking of the WSK Euro Series. The Italian driver will be called to take the last step towards success, after gaining experience in our team. Luigi won't be alone: in fact, Sebastian Gravlund will wear our race suit again, after a few appearances at the end of last year. The two drivers will share the tent with the newcomer Kuba Rajski, 3rd position in the ROK Cup Poland and 5th position in the ROK Cup Superfinal (both in the Senior category) using the Kosmic Kart material.
In OKJ, Ean Eyckmans and Alexander Gubenko continue as team-mates their growth path inside the Kosmic Kart Racing Team. The Belgian will be able to start exploiting the experience he gained last year in his first year in the OKJ category, while the Russian will be able to count on a well-established relationship with our staff that has known him for two years. This year, the two drivers will be joined by a new entry: Hugo Herrouin, who grew up in the French championships, will take part in international competitions after his debut in the ROK Cup Superfinal last October.
Drivers of both categories will be able to rely on the Kosmic Mercury R chassis equipped with DST and DJT engines by Vortex, the engine division of OTK Kart Group. A pair which has proved its worth during the whole 2020 season, gaining, among other results, Junior World Championship title and the victory in the OKJ category on the occasion of the WSK Open Cup in Adria.
Right on the Italian circuit, the Kosmic Kart Racing Department will restart its engines on the occasion of the WSK Champions Cup (February 18th-21st), opening race of the international karting calendar, immediately followed on the following weekend by the 1st round of the WSK Super Master Series.
